ABOUT SHAMIKA PIGGEE
As Director of Compliance at New Hope Housing, I lead the strategic direction and oversight of all regulatory compliance functions across our portfolio of affordable housing communities. My role is to ensure that every property not only meets but exceeds the rigorous standards set by federal, state, and local programs—including TDHCA, HUD, HOME, and City of Houston requirements. I am deeply committed to fostering a culture of integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement, where compliance is viewed as a shared responsibility and a vital part of our mission to serve with excellence.I collaborate closely with executive leadership, property management, and supportive services teams to strengthen systems, streamline workflows, and enhance staff development through targeted training and coaching. By using data-driven insights and proactive risk assessment, I help our organization maintain operational readiness and long-term sustainability. My focus extends beyond regulatory adherence—I aim to build sustainable compliance practices that empower people, promote accountability, and safeguard the trust our residents, partners, and funders place in us.
