Shamanth is a Software Development Engineer at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he contributes to building scalable and reliable backend systems. He recently completed his M.Sc. in Computer Science at Concordia University, Canada, under the supervision of Dr. Leila Kosseim. His research focused on leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) for tasks such as zero-shot discourse segmentation and analyzing persuasion techniques in multimodal data. His work has been recognized at conferences like NAACL 2024, NLPA 2024, and Canadian AI 2024. Shamanth holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Communication Engineering from the Manipal Institute of Technology, with a minor in Big Data Analytics. His technical expertise spans programming languages like Python, Java, and C++, and frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow. He has experience with cloud platforms including AWS and Google Cloud, and tools like Kubernetes and Vertex AI. His projects have encompassed areas like speech recognition, where he developed a robust keyword spotting system using models like WavLM. Professionally, Shamanth has held roles as a Graduate Research Assistant at Concordia University, Software Engineering Intern at Cisco Systems, and research positions at IBM Research and the University of Lethbridge. His contributions span advanced text summarization techniques, explainability in Graph Neural Networks (GNNs), and secure data transmission models.
