About Shally Prasad

Ms. Shally Prasad is an international development professional with over 25 years of experience in democratic development at USAID where she has developed and managed multi-million dollar foreign assistance programs promoting democracy, human rights, governance and gender equality in the global south. She has managed U.S. foreign assistance programs at U.S. government missions in Pakistan, Haiti, Indonesia, Jordan, and Cambodia and served at USAID/Washington. Throughout her assignments, she has applied skills in strategic planning and analysis to develop programs addressing political, security and humanitarian crises. Her technical expertise spans all areas of the democracy portfolio in conflict and insecure environments, including rule of law, citizen security, human rights, governance, elections and political processes, civil society and media, technology for development, gender equality and social inclusion. Prior to working for USAID, she worked in India for several years on women’s rights and rule of law of issues and published her research in both India and America.
