Led a comprehensive evaluation of the Future Ready Oregon Credit for Prior Learning Program (CPL). Negotiated awards, deliverables and reporting with 19 higher education institutions. ABOUT SHALEE HODGSON
I am a dedicated higher education and workforce development professional with experience leading teams through change, aligning programs, leveraging resources, and improving outcomes. I hold a bachelor’s degree with majors in psychology and sociology, a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in organizational behavior, and a doctor or education degree focused on education leadership. In addition, I have over twenty years of experience in post-secondary education and workforce programs with over ten years supervising and leading staff. I have worked in multiple education and workforce development positions at the state and local levels. My experience ranges from classroom teacher to Associate Dean of Technology, Applied Science, and Public Services, and Director and Policy Advisor in higher education and workforce policy agencies. In my experience at the state and local levels I established collaborative working relationships with Governor’s office staff, legislators, community-based organizations, labor unions, colleges, workforce boards, and agency staff and leaders in multiple education and workforce system agencies. Working closely with agency and local stakeholders supported by ability to engage stakeholders in policy development, workforce and education system alignment, and project implementation. Some of these projects included the implementation and alignment of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, implementation of regional sector partnerships, and the development of Future Ready Oregon (2018). Additionally, I have provided leadership on workforce system strategic planning, Career and Technical Education (CTE) planning, statewide student success initiatives, and overall education and workforce system alignment. I also provided leadership and support to faculty, staff, and administrators to develop and implement statewide CTE programs, transfer degree pathways, and multiple Career Pathways programs. I have extensive experience and knowledge of Oregon’s Workforce System and have conducted operational assessments of all nine Local Workforce Boards. I also have extensive knowledge of CTE Programs both at the state and local levels. I have participated in every aspect of CTE program development from the concept stage locally, through curriculum development and on to program approval at the state level. I have participated in the development of Integrated Education and Training programs, Career Pathways programs, transfer degree pathways, Guided Pathways, Strategic Enrollment Management, and customized training.
