I have had the privilege of serving on the Saskatoon Open Door Society Board since 2020 and currently serve as Board President. In this role, I work alongside fellow board members and the SODS team to support the organization’s mission of helping newcomers settle and build their lives in our community.Through my time with SODS, I have been grateful for the opportunity to learn from the community we serve and to support programs, partnerships, and initiatives that help newcomers feel welcomed and supported. I care deeply about inclusion and about helping ensure SODS can continue to meet the evolving needs of newcomers.As someone with lived immigrant experience, I feel a strong connection to the mission of the Saskatoon Open Door Society. It is meaningful to be able to contribute, in a small way, to building a more welcoming and supportive community for newcomers and future generations.
