ABOUT SHAIRI TURNER

I am a physician leader, pediatrician, internist, and public health advocate dedicated to helping children, teens, and families thrive. As Chief Health Officer at Crisis Text Line, I guide the policy, advocacy, and clinical supervision teams that support the mental health and well-being of millions in crisis each year.My career has been shaped by a deep commitment to trauma-informed care — teaching clinicians, educators, and parents how stress and trauma affect health, behavior, and relationships. From transforming healthcare for incarcerated youth in Florida to leading national trainings on the neurobiology of trauma, I’ve worked to bring compassion and science into systems that touch young people’s lives.Now, I am extending that mission to the parenting space: sharing practical, research-based strategies that help families nurture resilience, reduce stress, and raise emotionally healthy children and teens.
