ABOUT SHAINA FLANAGAN

Aviation Maintenance Administration, U.S. Navy“If not me, then who? If not now, when?” I am passionate for servant leadership and am proud to be able to give back to my country in a military manner while I seek my MBA/Sports Management Masters degree programs post my Naval service. Let\'s talk sports- women\'s sports attendance is on the rise like never before, but why is that? Women\'s sports have never lacked talent, but have lacked opportunity and societal standards to be met with similar media coverage to men\'s sports and I want to be apart of that change because I am passionate for equal opportunity and for women\'s empowerment in a non-traditional sector as I\'ve been there myself and continue to strive for what is challenging. Johnson & Wales University Providence\'s past National Student Organization E-Board Community Service Officer and a SkillsUSA Rhode Island State Officer and National Silver Medalist in Prepared Speech. I advocate for career and technical education and strive to exemplify leadership, resilience, and customer service through my work and involvement as an alumni with these organizations.Relevant coursework: international tourism policy, strategic management, foundations of leadership studies, adventure, sports, and nature tourism, technology in the hospitality industry, communication skills, business management, managerial accounting, finance, tour management operations, and destination management.
