1) MOUNT ISA Increased Structural Gauge Project The Mount Isa Line (MIL) runs for over from Stuart to Mount Isa and includes the Phosphate Hill branch. Major end customers that utilise the Mount Isa Line have mining or fertiliser production interests. Increasing the structural gauge and enabling container stacking to operate between Port of Townsville and Mount Isa. 2) North Johnstone Steel Bridge Structural Remediation Works North Johnstone River Rail Bridge is located at 1,597.870 km on the North Coast Line approximately 4 km north of Innisfail, Queensland and was originally constructed in the 1920s. The bridge is 175 metres in length, consisting of four steel truss spans and one steel girder span. The structure is supported by cast-iron piers in permanent tidal saltwater and is located within an aggressive environment 3) Ayr RSJ Bridges Remediation Works: The North Coast Line (NCL) has a total of 23 passenger stations and platforms from Gympie North to Cairns. Of those 23 stations, eight are manned or have contract station staff. These stations are Maryborough West, Bundaberg, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Proserpine, Mackay, Townsville and Cairns. 4) West Moreton Bridge Replacement (D&C): Queensland Rail is replacing 18 rail bridges between Ipswich and Chinchilla with more durable steel structures to improve the safety and reliability of our network. The bridges will be replaced during a few scheduled track closures. 5) Tablelands Bridge Replacement (D&C): QR has over 190 timber bridges, totalling approximately 5.7 kilometres on the Tablelands Line between Kuranda and Forsayth. These aging timber bridges also have structural elements that have components approaching the end of life including piers and girders. The scope of work involves the design and construction of bridgeworks at several locations involving ten (10) bridges replacement, as Design and Construct (D&C) Contract.
