About Shahvir Buhariwalla

Pursuing embedded software engineering at the start of my career allowed me to leverage my background in robotics and software while gaining experience in enterprise codebases and software development architectures. As a software engineer, I developed GUI features for UAVs, wrote device drivers for PCI and USB based hardware, and created numerous Python automation scripts. These projects fueled my interest in project management, risk management, and the balance between good software architecture and limited investment, inspiring me to pursue a leadership role: The experience of leading globally distributed teams across US and India over the last 4 years demonstrates my strengths in: Scaling operations and integrating global teams Driving innovation and strategic planning across engineering departments Delivering results in global workforce planning and post-acquisition integration: & Being a lifelong learner who views leadership as both an art and a science, I blend my passion and experience in engineering with leadership skills to: Set realistic goals for my team, mentor effectively, and ask the right questions to make informed decisions Combine analytical problem-solving with intuitive action to move swiftly while managing risks Challenge the status quo and drive innovation Approach problems with a balance of short-term fixes and long-term investments Engage directly with users, experimenting and analyzing to simplify and clarify problems : & Outside work, I dive into my DIY projects. I manage a home lab with Proxmox VMs, Docker, and custom scripts, and I create smart home systems using Home Assistant and IoT devices. I also create custom PCBs for sous vide control and garage door monitoring, and enjoy 3D printing projects with an Artillery Genius Pro and Klipper on a Raspberry Pi. My open-source contributions, such as DockSTARTer, fuel my creativity, while allowing me to give back and contribute towards an open ecosystem:Python, C/C++, Docker, Linux, Git, GNU Make, LabVIEW, DAQmx API, JavaScript, Angular, Bash, SolidWorks
