I’m the Communications Manager at Hasiru Dala, a social impact organisation committed to advancing social justice for waste pickers. We work across 12 key areas—including identity rights, housing, pensions, health, skill development, and employment access—to help waste pickers lead secure, dignified lives.My role is to share their stories in ways that are meaningful, respectful, and impactful. I lead communications across all 12 verticals, creating content for digital platforms, social media, print materials, campaigns, and press outreach. I also write impact reports, support partnerships and fundraising efforts, and ensure our messaging reaches the right audience, including government officials, donors, and the communities we serve.At the heart of my work is a simple belief: waste pickers are silent environmentalists, and their voices deserve to be heard, especially in spaces where decisions about their lives are made.
