ABOUT SHAHERYAR S.

I am a qualified accountant with more than ten years of experience working in the field of accounting, finance and audit. I specialize in the areas of financial accounting, statutory compliance, external audits and process improvement. I am a member of Chartered Accountants England & Wales (ICAEW) and Associates of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).I am currently working with West Pharmaceutical Services as Finance Manager in Record to Report Team in Dublin. As part of my responsibilities, I am responsible for general accounting processes from point of transaction to financial close. I am managing a small team of three qualified Senior accountants and is responsible for their coaching and development. My team is responsible for month end close process, financial statements preparation, audit, tax returns filing and managing relationships with different stakeholders. For a period of six months I have worked at Grant Thornton Dublin as an Associate Director in Financial Accounting & Advisory Services (FAAS). In FAAS I was managing clients for Global Reporting Services (GCRs). As part of my responsibilities, I was managing portfolio of clients for statutory compliance which includes bridge file & financial statements preparations, tax filing and managing services from different local Grant Thornton offices. I was also involved in accounting advisory assignments which includes preparing technical accounting memos, redrafting of accounting policies under IFRS, calculating GAAP conversion adjustments and preparation of IFRS based financial statements. Prior joining Grant Thornton I was working at Baxter International Inc. as an Accounting Manager for DACH cluster. I was people manager and my team was responsible for overall US GAAP trial balances for DACH entities. My team was responsible for month-end activities, preparation of financial statements, managing relationships with stakeholders, coordination of external audits, preparation of tax returns, process improvements etc. I worked for several years in external audit with Ernst & Young Dublin office as an Audit Manger. During my time at Ernst & Young I have mainly audited non-financial clients which includes manufacturing and trading entities. I have gained extensive assurance and compliance experience with EY in different geographical locations and multicultural teams. I am also skilled in the use of various accounting software packages such as SAP, Oracle JDE, PowerBi, One Source (Thomas Reuters) for tax calculation, Workiva for statutory financial statements preparation etc.
