ABOUT SHAHEENA DIN

An experienced and driven professional with a passion for making a meaningful difference. Over the past year as CEO of PKAVS, I have embraced the opportunity to lead a community-focused organisation in Perth and Kinross. This role has allowed me to combine my existing skills with new challenges, leading to both personal and professional growth. Completing my Master’s in Public Policy at the University of Stirling has been a challenging but immensely rewarding journey. The course has deepened my understanding of policy analysis, particularly in the context of multi-level policymaking. From writing blog posts for public engagement to undertaking a research-intensive dissertation on a pressing policy question, the combination of theory, practice, and guest seminars has expanded my perspective while testing my resilience and adaptability. My earlier career, including my time at Shelter Scotland, provided a deep understanding of Scotland’s housing policy landscape and hands-on experience with issues such as debt, fuel poverty, and community advocacy. These experiences shaped my strategic thinking, resilience, and ability to lead cross-sector initiatives effectively such as the Anti Poverty Task Force in P&K which I co chair.I bring a strong work ethic, lateral thinking, and a collaborative approach to every opportunity. Whether it\'s strategic planning, public speaking, coaching, or influencing key stakeholders, I strive to inspire and deliver meaningful results.
