ABOUT SHAENA HARRISON

I’ve always been the person in the room who notices what people actually need. The one who hears a half-finished sentence and says,“Wait… have you met X?”I don’t network.I connect dots. That instinct started early. My mom, Michelle, founded one of the world’s first wish-granting organisations for children with life-threatening illnesses in Canada. Watching her taught me something I never unlearned: real connection is a gift. And when it’s done with care, it can genuinely change lives.Years later, I found myself deep in the event world, producing for companies like LinkedIn, Klarna, TEDx, and Singularity University. And everywhere I landed, I kept seeing the same thing break. The rooms were full. The opportunities were there. But connection was still left to chance.Awkward hellos.Missed introductions.Teams attending events hoping it would “just work”.Sponsors crossing their fingers for ROI.Then my career hit turbulence.Four layoffs in three years.Painful.Clarifying.Because once you’ve seen a pattern clearly enough, it’s hard to un-see it.So I built the thing I couldn’t stop doing anyway.I’m Shaena. A recovering event producer turned Professional Wing Woman, and the founder of Wing People.Say goodbye to awkward event networking.Wing People is a collective of trained Wing People who design and facilitate human-led connection at B2B events for event organisers and for teams attending those events. We embed Wing People directly into the room to make sure the right conversations actually happen. What that looks like:• warm, intentional introductions• meaningful conversations that don’t feel forced• real ROI for sponsors• teams making events count, with or without a boothAlongside events, I also work as a Wing Person in Residence for founders and small teams, and train Wing People to embed in this role as part of the wider agency. Wing People in Residence support connection, communication, and collaboration from the inside, over time.I also deliver keynotes and workshops on networking without the ick, connection for non-extroverts, and how to design environments where people actually want to talk to each other. No gimmicks. No pitch slaps. No awkward networking theatre.Just real people, supporting real connection, in the moments that matter.Because you don’t need to be extroverted to be good at networking. You need structure, intention, and the right kind of support.Happy connecting,ShaenaFounder & Professional Wing Woman 🪽
