ABOUT SCOTT CUNNINGHAM

Scott has twenty years of experience in software architecture design, development and project management within healthcare. He was technical lead for NHS Scotland’s shared electronic record for diabetes: SCI Diabetes Collaboration (SCI-DC – This system has been hugely influential in the understanding of diabetes epidemiology and more recently pharmacogenomics. SCI-DC received an award for \"Excellence in Major Healthcare IT Development\" at the eHealth Insider Awards in 2011.Scott has an active research interest in the patient-focused aspects of Health Informatics and received Scottish Diabetes Group funding in 2007 for the development of NHS Scotland’s diabetes patient information website He leads an award-winning project (“Award for Education and Self-management”, Diabetes UK Annual Professional Conference 2015;\"Best initiative supporting self-care\", Quality in Care Diabetes, October 2013) allowing patients across Scotland direct access to their diabetes record. Scott and his team have a track record of taking research development grants to the level of fully integrated national services.In January 2017, Scott and co-founder Dr Deborah Wake set up MyWay Digital Health Limited as a spin-out from the University of Dundee. The company was initially set-up to rollout My Diabetes My Way into NHS England and to explore opportunities for international expansion. The product base has recently evolved to incorporate MyDiabetes Education (online learning resources for patients), MyDiabetes Clinical (patient management for healthcare professionals), MyDiabetes IQ (risk stratification and prediction) and MyDiabetes Consultancy (guidance and advice on all aspects of digital health).Specialties: Health Informatics, personal health records, electronic medical records, systems architecture, project planning, team leading and management, technical consultancy.
