About Scott Ganson

15+ years of software design/implementation experience in scientific and engineering computing community. Main expertise is in hail formation/melting, atmospheric microphysics, and Rayleigh/Mie scattering of large inhomogenous particles such as melting/freezing hail and how all these various phenomena are \"seen\" by polarimetric weather radars. Specialized in weather radar product development, visualization and general software optimization using GPU computing, architecture and compiler specific intrinsic functions, and coupling assembly language with higher level languages such as C++. Hobby projects include embedded system design and microcontroller programming (mainly PIC). Experience with hybrid language programming methods such as engineering and developing python bindings for complex software using C++. Specialties: Weather radar, polarimetric weather radar, data transfer, linux socket programming, performance computing, software optimization, well versed in generic, metaprogramming and functional techniques
