We are helping with the need to attract, develop and retain APC’s and RN’s to support the growing demand has never been more important. Optum/UHG is well equipped to fill the shortage of preceptors and hand on clinical training. Established universities offer the curriculum and professional certification needed. Together we can partner in educating the next generation of clinicians, providing robust hands-on experience; setting them up for success in the delivery of high-quality care and offering them an opportunity for employment after graduation. We foster those relationships 1-3 years out by providing high-touch outreach and engagement with the APC students during their clinical placements. We educate the students on the business segments within the Optum/UHG clinical family based on student’s interest, discuss job opportunities and potentially working for Optum/UHG post graduation. Acquire leads responsible for proactively strategizing on what the hand off process is to the relevant recruiter. Following up on submissions, connecting with business leaders when needed to secure consideration for the candidate in this unique population.
