About Stephen Shaw
I am an attorney in the Intellectual Property Litigation group of Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP, where I work to create and protect the intellectual property of entrepreneurs and established businesses, and to leverage the value of IP assets through creative transactions. A substantial part of my practice is focused on brand protection efforts, including anti-counterfeiting strategies and other trademark litigation. I also have substantial tax experience with issues affecting both business owners and exempt organizations, and received an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University in 2014. I enjoy working with entrepreneurs and business owners to build, establish, and maximize the value of their enterprise through sophisticated planning and legal strategy.As a Marine, I spent four years as an Infantry officer with 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, including two combat tours to Iraq. I\'ve also served as the North Carolina representative of \"Marine For Life,\" an initiative that connects transitioning Marines, veterans, community resources and employers to connect Marines with opportunity - I am passionate about connecting transitioning Marines for post-service success. I currently serve as a Navl Concepts Project Officer at the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab in Quantico, VA.
