Hired to establish and manage an internal audit department for a $3.5 billion dollar publicly traded manufacturing company. Recruit and manage a best in class team across 3 continents. Reporting functionally to the Audit Committee Chair and administratively to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). • Develop annual audit plan and present to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. Provide quarterly updates on progress with plan and other matters of relevance to the committee. • Oversee the execution of audits defined in the audit plan and ensuring the highest level of service quality. • Identify and Implement technology solutions to automate and enhance audit processes. • Manage the Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) 404 process including scoping, control documentation, testing and reporting. • Oversee global investigations into allegations of financial misconduct and violations of the code of ethical conduct. Identify opportunities for control enhancements and process improvement. • Engage service providers as needed for special projects including investigations, audit co-sourcing and information technology (IT) engagements.
