Engineering & Technical Expertise- Design and development of electrolysis stacks and cells based on performance, current, and voltage requirements, including preparation of construction drawings- Engineering and design of gas separators for alkaline stacks under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions- Conceptualization and development of test benches for alkaline and AEM water electrolyzers- Process engineering: creation of P & ID diagrams, process flow diagrams, and comprehensive risk analyses- Static and dynamic simulation of stack performance under various operating parameters- R&D of a new generation of alkaline electrolyzers with ceramic separators for high-temperature applications (100–150 °C)- Post-mortem analysis of stack tests, including interpretation of polarization curves and impedance spectroscopy data- Research, design, and manufacturing of capillary electrolyzers as well as functional testing and results review. Project Management- Project Manager for the design, setup, and operation of a 3 kW / 10 bar test bench for alkaline and AEM water electrolyzers- Project Manager for investigating the effects of operating and shutdown parameters on the reverse current phenomenon in alkaline water electrolysis- Project Manager for testing and performance evaluation of newly developed diaphragms- Project Manager for R&D and testing of high-temperature, high-pressure alkaline stacks- Sub-project Manager in the SOEC water electrolysis pilot line (responsible for the IC coating system)- Leading the industrialization and automation of the SOEC pilot line in Arnstadt.
