ABOUT JEFF SEXTON

The first thing you need to know about me: I am passionate about - and skilled at - solving problems. Not all approaches work for solving a particular problem, and thus I try to be both flexible and adaptable as to the tools and techniques I acquire and apply. I know I don\'t have all the answers, so I enjoy learning from those who know different things. On the flip side, I do have a fair amount of experience at this point in my career and enjoy sharing that knowledge, particularly with less experienced developers. I\'m adept at explaining most technical concepts to even non-technical people. Yet at the same time I don\'t use a lot of the same vocabulary as the \"High Priests\" of any particular tool or technique - even as I try to make sure I understand what they are talking about and can convert it to less technical language for others.The second thing you need to know about me: when someone tells me that a particular thing cannot be done. I take that as a challenge. I started college as a 16yo kid in part because some high school administrators said it couldn\'t be done. I taught myself Java in 8 weeks (rather than the 16 week course others would have) because it needed to happen at the time. When I was tasked with fixing a long list of bugs, I fixed them far faster than estimated. When I came into a situation where the system was so complicated it *had* to be tested in Production, I found a way to copy Production data into lower environments while satisfying all security and regulatory concerns.I love solving problems, and I particularly love solving the *toughest* problems in my space - along with learning any new skills necessary to make that happen.Technical Specialties: Full Stack.NET development against either SQL Server or Oracle databases.
