Leading a 501(c)3 nonprofit working with a consortium of collaborative partners including university researchers, technology platforms and systems, county and state agencies, city governments, etc, SCCFSC\'s core mission is to save lives, property and our environment from wildfires. We focus on wildland-urban interface (WUI) areas, wildfire risk mitigation through Hazardous Fuel Reduction (HFR) programs including; Defensible Space Chipping, Special Needs Assistance Program (SNAP) incoming-qualifying program, roadside escape routes, and landscape-scale fuel breaks. SCCFSC supports The National Fire Protection Association’s Firewise USA® program that teaches communities how to adapt to living with wildfire and encourages neighbors to work together and take action to prevent losses. SCCFSC offers workshops and guidance for neighborhoods and communities that want to become Firewise-recognized. Responsibilities include:•Secured over $25Million in funding to date, including a grant.•Designed, launched and lead SCCFSC’s technology consulting and reseller (VAR) practice for AI solutions and wildfire safety products.
