I didn’t start out in tech.I left a stable job at one of the biggest employers in my hometown (Tulsa) with nothing lined up, moved to San Francisco, slept on my brother’s couch for three months, and drove Lyft while trying to figure out what was next.Eventually, I landed a role at Funding Circle, a venture-backed fintech company. It was the first time I saw what a fast-moving tech company actually looks like from the inside—and honestly, I was unprepared for the pace at first. I had to adapt quickly.That experience completely rewired how I saw business.I became very aware that software isn’t “nice to have”—it’s leverage. And I realized the people around me in SF weren’t smarter than the people back home… they were just more tech-literate. They understood how to use systems to scale.So I started learning how to build those systems.In 2017, I launched Periwinkle, a garage transformation startup that was featured on PBS. I built the entire digital backbone from scratch: pricing tools, lead pipelines, internal workflows, customer-facing web tools—the whole thing. It wasn’t glamorous, but it taught me what it means to build real software that supports real operations.By 2021, I landed my first role as a full-stack engineer at Gitwit, where I spent the next few years building and leading development across healthcare, logistics, AI, e-commerce, and more. That’s also where I worked under the person who later became my business partner.Today, I’m a Partner at 21 Solutions, a full-service software and AI development agency based in Tulsa.
