    Serves as the top management official over CDC’s largest and most complex organizational unit, covering 7 infectious disease sub-units, almost 1,600 full-time federal employees, 1,400 contractors, and an annual budget of more than $1.7 billion.Manages the daily operations of CDC’s largest center, including financial management, human resources, information technology, internal and external communications, Congressional and partner engagement, and strategic planning.Led change management during restructuring and implementation of new government-wide policies in 2025 and led staff of more than 2,900 individuals through rapid change with proactive, frequent communication plans.Ensured the continuation of several novel CDC programs, including wastewater surveillance and traveler-based genomic surveillance by negotiating the return of $260 million to CDC and strategically obligating these resources.Led Congressional and Administration engagement plans for the only Center at CDC that received a significant budget increase ($10 million) from the previous year.Oversaw the analysis of $117 million in contracts and grants to identify and justify mission-critical work, while also ending lower priority contracts to realize cost savings as part of government-wide efficiency efforts.
