Robotics & Automation:Program and adjust robots (Weld, Mig, Laser, Sealer, Clinching, Rivet, etc.) to optimize production and cycle time. Adjust robot grippers, perform rebuilds and fit-ups. Modify pick/drop points and implement program changes across robots, PLCs, SEW, lasers, and gluing systems. De-energize and operate pneumatic systems on fixtures and robots.Tooling & Fixtures:Diagnose and repair damaged or loose tooling. Install, swap, or modify tooling (machined or 3D printed) to support stability and pre-series/series builds. Maintain and adjust GEO and closure line fixtures. Confirm shim counts, clamp pressures, and fit-up against design intent. Perform adjustments based on inline measurement data. Support Tool & Die work.Dimensional & Quality Control:Perform single-part analysis and part fitment checks. Measure stud locations (e.g, airbag modules) and use templates for control. Conduct surface checks and use green gauges. Design and implement green blocks for dimensional accuracy. Conduct FMB reviews, Try Out Parts Process, and maintain FMK responsibility for Series/Pre-Series builds. Measure fixtures/grippers in production cells.Maintenance & Improvement:Execute PMs and tooling improvements. Optimize processes and cycle time. Apply Poke Yoke solutions. Inspect and replace worn RPS pins.Communication & Collaboration:Work closely with supervisors, engineers, peers, and maintenance to resolve tooling/process issues. Provide documentation and feedback via meetings, emails, and reports. Support diagnostics during downtime (>15 mins) with full equipment access. Participate in design and gauge reviews.Logistics & Safety:Pull parts/subassemblies for measurement or off-line checks. Ensure full equipment access remains until production buyoff during launch.Utilizing resources has been my biggest take away from this role. Collecting and analyzing data to properly understand issues before developing or implementing a solution is key.
