About Setareh Harsamizadeh Tehrani
I am a recent graduate of Santa Clara University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. My journey in advocacy work, particularly in mental health, has ignited a deep passion within me to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Throughout my academic journey, I actively engaged in various leadership roles. At my community college, I served as a dedicated statewide and senior student wellness ambassador, collaborating with diverse stakeholders to promote holistic well-being among students. I was also honored to be selected as an Alameda County mental health equity scholar, where I conducted literature reviews to identify ways to incorporate an equity lens in mental health delivery. As one of the two students in the Transfer Student Working Group at Santa Clara University, and as a transfer student and first-generation college student, I contributed my unique perspective to help build a stronger community. This experience further deepened my commitment to serving marginalized populations and addressing the social determinants of health that disproportionately affect them. In addition to my advocacy efforts, I have developed valuable skills in management, event planning, and leadership. I thrive in collaborative environments and have a proven track record of successfully organizing and executing impactful initiatives. Currently, I am proud to be a part of the UCAAN– The UCLA-UCSF ACEs Aware Family Resilience Network, where I serve as a patient advisor with a specific focus on youth and young adults. In this role, I contribute my insights and experiences to enhance the programs and initiatives, ensuring that the needs and perspectives of our target audience are effectively represented.
