About Serhan Ardanuç
Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS) engineer and transduction enthusiast with an interdisciplinary background and more than 20 years of experience spanning both industry and academia.I currently serve as Chief Science Officer at Geegah LLC, an Ithaca, NY–based startup developing CMOS-compatible ultrasonic sensing technologies, with a focus on real-time gigahertz ultrasonic imaging. Previously, I spent five years at Apple as a Sensor Design Engineer on the Touch Hardware team, contributing to the development and shipment of some of the world’s most widely recognized and commercially successful products.Earlier, as a Research Associate at Cornell University, I led and contributed to projects involving the analysis, design, simulation, fabrication, and testing of a broad range of MEMS devices. These included ultrasonic and electrostatic resonators; miniaturized electrostatic electron guidance and acceleration platforms; hardware security transducers for System-on-Chip protection; two-dimensional membrane actuators for particle transport; vibration-based, large-area energy harvesters; RF MEMS; and nanoelectromechanical switches. In this role, I mentored and supervised multiple Ph.D. students and taught MEMS courses at Cornell for two semesters. My broader research interests include robotics and sensor fusion for pervasive, human-centered applications.
