I work on improving road infrastructure so that it is safer, quieter, and more sustainable.I collaborate with transport authorities, cities, infrastructure agencies, and industry partners to understand how road surface characteristics influence road safety, environmental impact, and infrastructure performance.At RWTH Aachen University, my work focuses on data-driven transport infrastructure, combining pavement engineering, statistical analysis, and emerging AI tools to better understand vehicle–road interaction and its real-world consequences.My work contributes to:• Safer roads through improved understanding of surface characteristics and vehicle–road interaction• Lower environmental impact, particularly reducing traffic noise in urban environments• Better infrastructure decisions using data-driven analysis and modelingIn addition to research, I develop and coordinate national and international research projects, connecting universities, public authorities, and industry to translate scientific knowledge into practical solutions for mobility systems.My work supports the broader goal of safer and more sustainable transport infrastructure, aligned with initiatives such as Vision Zero and sustainable mobility strategies.I am always interested in collaborating with organizations working on road safety, transport infrastructure innovation, urban noise mitigation, and data-driven mobility systems.
