Sergio is a litigation partner at Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP and head of the firm’s Chambers-ranked and Legal 500-recognized global insurance recovery practice representing corporate policyholders in complex insurance coverage disputes nationally and internationally.Sergio counsels multinational corporations on risk management strategies across industries – including retail, manufacturing, energy, aerospace, transportation, finance, sports & entertainment, hospitality, gaming, artificial intelligence, data center infrastructure, and technology.He advises clients on coverage for risks such as: commercial general liability; environmental and products liability; directors and officers liability; errors and omissions liability; cyber and data breach; property and casualty loss; business and supply chain interruption; commercial crime; reps and warranties; contingent liability; excess, umbrella, and integrated risks; and other insured or reinsured risks under occurrence based or claims-made policies. Sergio’s experience includes high-value litigation to secure defense and indemnity coverage for exposures arising out of legacy products liability, including PFAS and other substances, as well as long-tail environmental liabilities involving RCRA, CWA, CERCLA, and TSCA.As part of his cross-border practice, Sergio leads global litigation under aviation hull all-risks, war, and political risk insurance policies covering commercial aircraft loss or damage. He advises corporate clients on insurance and captive insurance solutions involving London, Bermuda, Cayman, and Latin America markets. He co-chairs an international corporate counsel group focused on companies with business interests in Latin America.His experience includes matters cumulatively exceeding seven billion dollars in value. He is admitted to practice in NY, VA, TX, DC, and before SCOTUS and federal appellate and district courts.He frequently makes presentations and writes articles on insurance coverage law developments.
