Sergio Dromi

Director of Breast Imaging @Proscan Imaging

Sergio Dromi, M.D. is a physician radiologist specializing in women’s imaging. After Dr. Dromi received his medical degree from Universidad Favaloro, he left his native country and joined the Radiology Department of the National Institutes of Health where he volunteered for seven months until obtaining a post-doctoral fellow position with the authorship of numerous publications in scientific journals. Dr. Dromi became board certified by the American College of Radiology after completing his Radiology residency and then fellowship in Women’s/Breast Imaging at Georgetown University Hospital. During his residency Dr. Dromi obtained Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award by the RSNA Research & Education Foundation. Subsequently, Dr. Dromi joined the University Of Maryland where he served as the Section Chief of Breast Imaging and Assistant Professor in the Radiology Department. His academic work allowed him to be author in numerous publications, serve in multiple national and international conferences as well as obtain the honorable award of Attending of the year from the 2018 radiology resident class. Dr. Dromi was then recruited by Memorial Health/University of Mercer as Director of Breast Imaging to rebuild the breast imaging department. He successfully brought new technology, applied more efficient protocols, played a major role in the development and initiation of the high risk program and started the breast imaging fellowship. During his 3 years at Memorial Health, Dr. Dromi obtained the honorable award of Attending of the year by the 2019 radiology resident class and participated as guest speaker in multiple grand round conferences. Dr. Dromi is an advocate for women’s health and his new endeavor will take place in Naples, FL as Director of the Breast Imaging department for ProScan imaging. He will be serving in ProScan outpatient centers and NCH Healthcare system.
