ABOUT SERENA SCOTTON
I graduated in 2017 in law in Italy, then I right away started working as project manager/legal consultant in Brussels dealing with international projects and liaising with EU policy makers, after 5 years, I started working as R&I Project manager at RINA Consulting, where I manage international projects (with EU and African partners), dealing with data protection and meeting project milestones. I have many years of experience in managing and coordinating international projects (publicly funded) and in working with international business partners and technical business units. In recent years, I have worked mainly in the fields of renewable energy and innovative solutions. In project development, I work on a daily basis with business partners in Africa and Europe (i.e. public institutions, universities, large companies, SMEs, research centers, policy makers) as well as with colleagues from different business units (legal team, IT and engineers). Over the past 5 years, I have gained extensive experience in project definition, planning and execution to ensure data protection, legal and contractual compliance and adherence to project developments and milestones. As a project manager with a legal background, I take care of legal issues related to project developments and support in data protection/GDPR matters. Recently, a real passion for GDPR and data protection has matured in me and I would like to develop my career in these areas. I value the human factor and I am an empathetic team player.
