About Serena Zafiris

I have always been a very imaginative person with a passion for creating in general, whether it be drawing, making videos, making websites etc. However, I struggled to execute my creativity by hand. My mindset has always better attuned to math and technology rather than drawing and more traditional art forms. I then learned that I could utilize my computer skills to execute my own creative visions. What I lacked in dexterity of the pencil I made up for by learning how to get the technology to do it for me. This led me to my love for coding and animation, in which I can take my creative side and apply it to the code and various technical programs within the Animation Industry. This also helped me to discover my love for the support side of animation. Whether it be scripting and creating buttons in Maya to help the animation workflow run smoothly, or maintaining and organizing the file of a project in order to make sure the shots stay consistent and in the right place.Throughout my college experience I have been an active team member of the Division 1 women’s water polo team. My time as a student athlete has taught me valuable lessons in team cooperation, learning how to work with others under times of stress, and time management. This has allowed me to develop a strong sense of discipline and the ability to work well with others and be a source for conflict resolution.
