WORK HISTORY
Redd Team Leader (Senior Forestry Officer) @FAO
Rome, IT
Selected as Senior Forestry Officer / REDD+ team leader in February 2022. With great honour I am managing a team of highly professional, dedicated, committed and skilled colleagues in Headquarters and decentralized in three regions (Asia, Africa and Latin America). We work supporting countries designing and achieving their commitments on halting deforestation through the REDD+ process and in conjunction with their NDC through various initiatives (UN-REDD and CAFI to mention some flagship), projects with multilateral (e.g Green Climate Fund) and bilateral donors (e.g. Sweden). Technical areas of work span from climate finance (including issues related to carbon rights and unlocking results-based payments), to sustainable forest management, community-based forestry and sustainable land use, fostering more sustainable agriculture practices that come at no cost of forests. Work on monitoring, reference levels, reporting to is undertaken in conjunction with National Forest Monitoring colleagues. I believe the reason for the Team to be able to thrive is the essence of the team members and the spirit of collaboration and joint efforts in the common goal of halting deforestation that pervades it - for which I thank all colleagues.
