ABOUT SENEN PENA OLIVA

With a diverse background in healthcare and clinical research, I have developed into a well-rounded professional with a strong passion for continuous learning and the ability to tackle complex problems. My experiences in Cuba and Venezuela have shaped my resourcefulness and innovative mindset in delivering quality care. As the director of a rehabilitation center, I learned the importance of teamwork, effective communication, and adaptability. Upon my arrival in the United States, I embraced the opportunity to expand my clinical knowledge and customer service skills as a medical assistant. Joining the research team at the Division of Infectious Diseases was a pivotal moment in my career. I am proud to have actively contributed to conducting a monumental pneumonia study that led to the FDA approval of a groundbreaking vaccine – PREVNAR 20® (Pneumococcal 20-valent Conjugate Vaccine). As a team leader, I honed my skills in training, conflict resolution, and data management. I enrolled in an Executive MBA program while working as a research manager to pursue further professional growth. This position allowed me to oversee multiple clinical research studies, lead culturally-diverse teams, and establish collaborations with prestigious institutions and organizations, such as the NIH, CDC, GILEAD, Pfizer, Sanofi, Icon, and PRA. Successfully handling complex projects such as establishing a biorepository and serving as the primary liaison for industry-initiated studies showcased my ability to navigate multifaceted challenges. I also gained expertise in managing budgets and addressing regulatory matters. While I briefly ventured into entrepreneurship with my car rental business, I discovered that my true passion lies in healthcare. This realization emphasized the dynamic and rewarding nature of the industry that I had been missing. I am excited to transition into my new position as a Clinical Trial Manager at Liberate Medical, where I can leverage my diverse background and skill set to drive advancements in healthcare and medical research. Armed with my rich background in healthcare, clinical research, operations management, and business acumen, I am eager to make a meaningful impact in my new position. I am confident that my diverse experiences and unwavering commitment to excellence will enable me to continue to thrive in clinical trials.
