Sema Gornall is a social entrepreneur, gender equity & human rights expert and creative based in London, UK and working globally. She is the CEO of UK-based anti-Gender-Based Violence charity; The Vavengers. She is a producer & writer, creating works focusing on equality and race & class relations. Sema is also a policy & human rights adviser for various UK government departments and authorities. She has advised and helped produce anti-violence campaigns, legislations and policies as an advisor for FCDO, Home Office, Metropolitan Police, Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime, Crown Prosecution Service and Department for Health and Education. Sema works in the global advocacy space with cross-continent partners in challenging resistance against gender-equity and human rights while working on projects that looks into disparities in the funding and legislation landscape. She has been featured on various media outlets as an expert on human rights including the BBC. She is also an Advisory Member of Esmée Fairbairn Foundation; one of the largest independent funding organisations in the UK, advising for the \'A Fairer Future\' funding programme. Sema is a proud Member of The Clothworkers\' Company and became Free by Redemption in 2025 through an official ceremony.
