Access Lead @Wellcome Trust
As Access Lead I support Wellcome Collection to bring about change to be a more inclusive and accessible organisation. I do this through conversations, questions, consultation, collaboration, making connections and managing and leading projects. I have most recently been leading on the Social Justice Curriculum - a significant personal, professional and collective learning journey that enables staff to better understand what being anti-racist and anti-ableist means (in theory and practice) to their work and our organisation. I have researched and commissioned content developers and editors, facilitators and evaluators for this innovative, developing programme.

ABOUT SELENE BURN
My career has been fuelled by a passion for access to the arts and culture for everyone. I have held operational and strategic roles and have a wealth of experience of working with organisations to address inequity - with a particular focus on disability access and anti-ableist practice. My experience includes project and programme management, advice and consultancy, developing and delivering learning, facilitating conversations and leading / supporting change. My approach is collaborative, reflective and person-centred and informed by the Social Model of disability and the disability activism mantra \'Nothing about us without us\'. I thrive on working collaboratively with others to deliver outcomes. Much of my career has focused on understanding, addressing and dismantling physical, sensory, attitudinal, cognitive and structural barriers to meaningful engagement and access to the arts and culture.In my current role I am co-leading a process of change, considering how to embed inclusive practice and become an anti-ableist and anti-racist organisation. This is the work of lifetimes and not something that can be ‘fixed’ with a toolkit here and a training day there. It is important to me to bring people along on the journey, and provide supportive challenge and reflective facilitation to achieve impact.
