ABOUT SELENA MAGDALENO
My name is Selena Magdaleno, and I am a second-year student at Baruch College, majoring in Finance. I attend Baruch College under a program known as SEEK, where I receive guidance that helps me navigate my academics throughout college. I am grateful to have a support system like SEEK as a first-generation college student. The support I have received so far is what led me to become a peer mentor within the SEEK program because I get to give back to my community by supporting first-year students with advice on how to balance college life. I have met over 150+ first-year students and make time for anyone to help them through their first year! In addition, I am involved in a student organization named Women Empowered For Success, where I am the current secretary. I manage tasks like documenting meetings and creating QR codes. My goal is to make sure every woman who comes to our events is uplifted and feels better than when they walked in. I bring strong skills such as communication, organization, mentorship, and event management. I believe in supporting others, and I accomplish this in my role as a peer mentor and secretary.
