About Selamo A

A.D Selamo is originally from the beautiful village of Tatum-Nso in Bui Division, a very natural tourist destination, religious and hardworking semi-bantu (Banso) people of the Northwest Province of Cameroon in West Africa. He is a graduate of Yaounde University I in Cameroon (Bachelor of Arts) and WLRA International Center of Excellence -WICE/WAU, in The Netherlands (Master of Science).He is also an Award-Winning author, poet, screen/stage playwright, and actor from Cameroon in West Africa. He has written numerous poetry collections, plays and non-fiction novels. most of which center around the blatant disregard and disrespect for human rights and freedom around the world.Through his writings, Selamo has been exposed to several positive and negative realities of life and these are greatly reflected in his works. His writings and performances (stage and screen) have earned him many national and international awards/artist recognition. He is a two times IPS ABCD (Above and Beyond the Call of Duty) award winner, a member of the International Society of Poets and laureate of the highly acclaimed UNESCO-Aschberg Bursary for Artists and The International Fund for the Promotion of Culture. as well as a pioneer recipient of the prestigious Indiana Black Expo (IBE) Diversity and ‘Behind the Scenes’ Media Award.His latest poetry collections BOMB (Blood Of My Brothers/2014) is an elegiac nonfiction tribute to human rights activists in Africa and around the world, CLAW (Children Lost At War/2014)- a poetic journeys to expose the barbaric ‘claw’ of war and terror on innocent and harmless children whose struggles and sacrifices are often left untold; their names tragically lost in history - those who otherwise would have become nothing more than just another statistical data. Selamo is an Educator and a Production Operator at CBS4/WXINTV as well as mentor and Soccer Head Coach in the Indianapolis Public School District.
