About Sejal Pandey

Artists and storytellers have shaped my life-experience and creative voice in ways more than one. Over a decade ago, fresh out of college and shaped by the magic of music and film, I found myself on the sets of a youth-fiction TV series, learning the ABCs of creative production by aligning a diverse band of creative professionals towards a shared goal of an episode telecast. Ever since, learning through diversity and exploring the purpose of creative arts has been the theme of my chosen career-path. On this journey, I\'ve told stories about fictional characters, real people, products, brands and social-impact causes in varying capacities as a Journalist, Producer, Presenter and Screenwriter. Adapting through varying degrees of scale, cross-functional operations, genres and subjects, I\'ve created a spectrum of long and short-form content for TV, social media, live events, print, radio and OOH. Finding my creative voice at the intersections, I\'ve successfully translated ideas and concepts into stories and narratives for a variety of audiences. Collaborating with culturally and technically diverse creative professionals globally and locally in countable and uncountable roles, I\'ve created and scaled-up content-led businesses for brands such as Channel V, UTV Bindaas, Endemol Shine, United Nations, WION, Outlook India, upGrad, USAID, IFFI and Forbes India. As a team-player, I find a quiet strength in learning something new everyday. As a leader, I\'m driven towards refining my skills through repeated iterations, acquiring greater depths to guide younger folks and lead with impact. A decade into the business, I still enjoy the thrill of gaining fresh perspective found through stepping into a new project with a new set of people and giving form to a new idea to watch it come alive, especially on an edit timeline :) As a creative professional who grew up in the traditional TV industry, working long-hours, early mornings, late nights, festivals, birthdays and public holidays, I\'ve learned to build better boundaries around productivity and output at the cost of my health. Post battling burnout at various stages of my career, I\'m now committed to a more sustainable idea of growth with a better sense of boundaries, viewing my career as a \"marathon instead of a sprint\". Last year, while recovering from chronic illness and immobility, I leaned into a long-cherished dream of pushing the envelope on my writing and took a leap of faith and sent an entry to Netflix\'s Take Ten contest for screenwriters, emerging amongst Top150 shortlist.
