Experience
Scope 3 Upstream Transformation Leader
Jan 2023 — Present
Leading action on scope 3 upstream emissions reductions with a holistic, business focused mindset recognizing that the data and strategy to enable scope 3 reductions require internal and external partnerships as well as new ways of thinking. • Scope 3 upstream decarbonization strategy including cross functional alignment, orchestration and thought leadership - Helped develop external facing KPIs that link the efforts of a variety of teams and initiatives to absolute reductions leading to greater alignment on our approach to scope 3 upstream management• CBAM strategy and reporting - Coordinated a cross functional team to manage CBAM reporting. The team is now functioning self sufficiently and we are exploring a new tool to optimize the process and focus on reductions to ideally avoid future costs• Scope 3 upstream emissions accounting owner including yearly audit, updated methodologies, and strategy to incorporate as much primary data as possible - Automated scope 3 upstream carbon accounting and spearheaded an update to the approach and data flow for a number of categories including purchased goods and services. This resulted in many hours saved, a cleaner audit and stabilized reporting • Co-led an extensive cross functional PCF tools selection process in partnership with procurement • Business model development to enable lower emissions procurement - Built cross functional teams to think in new ways about how we can link sustainability and business outcomes. Incremental revenue and cost savings developed and in process. • Led a successful cross functional effort to build momentum for an internal carbon fee on business travel. Key leadership on board• Lead CSRD reporting for E1 scope 3 upstream and the upstream portion of E5• SBTi re-baselining support and calculations• Thought leadership in partnership with WEF, RMI, WBCSD and others
