I\'m building an advanced soccer analytics engine designed to quantify player decision-making under pressure — something coaches and scouts often see but can’t yet measure. The core idea is to turn instinctive, high-IQ moments into hard data that tells a deeper story about player intelligence and effectiveness on the ball.My work focuses on analyzing pressure situations in real game footage. I’m manually annotating matches, structuring a growing dataset, and training computer vision models (using tools like YOLO and FastAI) to detect players, track positioning, and understand how pressure is applied and broken. This system combines rule-based logic with machine learning to measure when and how players break pressure — and what that says about their quality of play.The end goal is to develop a stat that reflects soccer IQ in decisive moments, which can be used by coaches to develop players, by scouts to discover undervalued talent, and by clubs to analyze how pressure affects outcomes.If you’re in soccer, player development, or sports analytics, I’d love to connect and exchange ideas.
