About Sebastian Meier
I am an undergraduate at William & Mary pursuing a double major in Economics and International Relations, with a strong interest in global development, migration, and the intersection of data analysis and public policy. My work centers on translating rigorous quantitative research into insights that inform real-world decision-making.I currently serve as a Research Intern at the Brookings Institution’s Global Economy and Development program, where I support econometric research on migration and labor markets, contribute to policy memos and reports, and work with large international datasets. Previously, I worked with AidData’s Tracking Underreported Financial Flows (TUFF) team, helping build a comprehensive dataset on Chinese development finance by geocoding projects across more than 100 countries.Alongside my research experience, I am an Associate Editor for the Monitor Journal of International Relations, where I review and edit student scholarship across economics, policy, and political science. I also bring leadership and teaching experience from tutoring and curriculum development roles focused on expanding educational access.I am fluent in English, German, and French and enjoy working in international, multilingual environments. I am especially interested in opportunities related to economic research, international development, and policy analysis, where I can apply data-driven methods to global challenges.
