ABOUT SEBASTIAN EHRIG
I’m a Senior Computer Vision & AI Engineer with a PhD in Biophysics and 10+ years of experience working on computational and data-intensive systems across research and industry. With a background in biophysics, bioengineering, and data science, I bring a mix of scientific rigour and practical engineering and am driven by a deep curiosity for science, technology and their real-world impact.In my current role as Senior Data Science Consultant at Capco, I design and ship production-grade AI systems for clients, from on-edge computer vision solutions to multi-agent systems powered by LLMs.Previously, I co-founded Aidefit, an AI health-tech startup, where I acted as CTO and led the end-to-end development of a real-time posture monitoring product based on computer vision and deep learning - including securing competitive pre-seed funding to support the team and prototype development. Before that, I spent several years as a researcher at the Max Delbrück Center Berlin and Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces in Potsdam, working on computational modelling and 3D imaging of biomaterials, and co-developed a patented method for 3D mapping of tissue gene expression data.I’m particularly interested in roles where I can- Own substantial parts of the computer vision / AI stack (from data to deployment)- Help teams bridge research-grade models and real-world products- Mentor other engineers and contribute to good AI engineering practicesOutside of work, I enjoy being outdoors.
