ABOUT SEBASTIAN SCHENK
I\'ve always had two sides: an almost uncontrollable curiosity to understand how things work and an equally strong urge to immediately turn that understanding into something real.This led me to study sociology, history, criminology, and law. And to never just study. Even during university, there was barely a phase where I wasn\'t also building something on the side.After my first state exam, I never felt drawn to the traditional legal career path in Germany. Instead, I chose the more practical route by training as a mediator and systemic coach, working with idioletic interviewing techniques, and running an e-commerce business in parallel. But the curious side always wanted more room.Working closely with people taught me something fundamental:Most complexity isn\'t in the subject itself - it\'s in the translation. When you meet people in their own language, barriers fall naturally. They\'re capable of far more than they think.Now I apply this principle to law, because legal complexity is, at its core, a translation problem. Translate it into language people understand. Then translate it into code that makes it actionable. That\'s the work that drives me every single day.With simply Legal, I finally get to combine both sides. We do serious R&D and then we ship real value. We build DIY legal products that close the access-to-justice gap for VSBs & SMEs. And eventually, for everyone.
