ABOUT SEBASTIAN KUHNHARDT

I grew up in the hospitality industry—both my parents and grandparents owned hotels and guesthouses in the Pfalz region, which is why I can proudly call myself a true \"Pfalz Hotelier\'s Child.\" From a young age, I experienced the daily operations firsthand, from working in the kitchen to facing the challenges of running a hotel. My journey led me through an apprenticeship as a cook and hotel management studies, eventually earning a degree in hotel business administration.‍ 🧠 The inspiration for happyhotel came from a very practical problem we encountered in our family hotel. I realized that our pricing was often rigid and inflexible, especially during major events like the Pfälzer Wurstmarkt. It became clear to me: with dynamic pricing, we could generate significantly more revenue. This thought became the foundation of my thesis and eventually the business idea for happyhotel. Today, happyhotel enables hoteliers to optimize occupancy and increase revenue through intelligent pricing strategies—exactly what I wished we had back in our family hotel. The leap from hospitality to the software industry was a big but incredibly exciting step for me.
