ABOUT SEBASTIAN GRUND

I am a Legal Counsel at the International Monetary Fund, focusing on IMF lending and surveillance and sovereign debt restructuring. Prior to my LL.M. studies at Harvard Law School, I worked as a lawyer and policy advisor at the European Central Bank. I hold a PhD in international financial law from the University of Vienna and I am admitted to the New York State Bar. My research has been published in several renowned academic journals and was also cited by the European Court of Justice in the Kuhn case. I published a book entitled “Sovereign Debt Restructuring and the Law: The Holdout Creditor Problem in Argentina and Greece” (Routledge, 2023).
