Self-employed Visiting Music Teacher (VMT) at The King’s School, Gloucester, teaching singing to pupils across junior and senior levels.Lessons focus on developing vocal technique, musicianship, and confidence, including work on breathing, tone, and performance skills. I work at the intersection of environment, communication, and culture.As Cabinet Member for the Environment at Gloucester City Council, I oversee services including parks, waste and recycling, and street care. My focus is simple: how do we make environmental policy something people actually understand and connect with?Alongside this, I am a countertenor and teacher, performing as a soloist and ensemble singer. I sing regularly with the Tewkesbury Abbey Schola Cantorum following 17 years as a lay clerk at Gloucester Cathedral, and teach piano and singing in local schools.I perform frequently with my wife, soprano Vicki Field, and with our ensembles Suoni Chiari and Gaudeamus. I also co-direct the GLOW Coffee Concerts series in Gloucester, creating accessible, high-quality live music in a relaxed setting.Our debut CD Moods was released in 2023, exploring lute songs and love songs from the 15th century to the present day.Increasingly, my work brings these worlds together. I speak and write about how we communicate complex ideas clearly and humanly, especially in an age of distraction.I am always open to opportunities to speak, write, perform, and collaborate.
