ABOUT SEB SEBASTIEN COSTEDOAT COSTA

Sebastien is a senior research manager at Conservation International. He is in charge of coordinating a portfolio of impact evaluations measuring the environmental and social effectiveness of conservation interventions. This portfolio contributes to increasing the existing evidence base documenting what works, what doesn’t, and why in forest conservation. Sebastien’s research has been focused on understanding the causal mechanisms through which monetary incentives for natural resource management produce intended and unintended outcomes, notably when these incentives are implemented in collectively-owned resources. Before joining CI, Sebastien received his Ph.D. in environmental science from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (ICTA, Spain) and a master’s degree in Development Economics from the University of Auvergne-CERDI (CERDI. France).
