About Sean Williams

I am a senior government affairs and public policy leader with more than two decades of experience at both the state and national levels. Currently Vice President of State and Local Government Affairs at Airlines for America (A4A), I lead nationwide lobbying strategies, build coalitions with diverse stakeholders, and negotiate high-stakes regulatory and legislative solutions. I have served as the airline industry’s primary negotiator on a number of key pieces of legislation, including the historic 2024 reform of the California Private Attorneys General Act, the reform of long-standing aircraft property valuation conflicts and legislation which reduces and rationalizes the industry’s tax burden, among others.Prior to A4A, I was elected to six terms representing the 68th House District in the Connecticut General Assembly. During my legislative career, I held leadership roles as Ranking Member of the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee, Ranking Member of the Energy and Technology Committee, and as a member of the Insurance and Real Estate, Commerce and Education Committees, as well as the State Bond Commission. A recipient of several awards for my legislative work and community involvement, I was widely recognized as a leader willing to cross party lines to forge strategic partnerships on a number of key pieces of legislation in Connecticut.I hold an MBA in Finance and a B.A. in Political Science, both from the University of Connecticut. In July 2025, I was appointed by House Speaker Matt Ritter to the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority.
