About Sarah Antonelli

After working for two original six NHL teams, the New York Rangers & the Detroit Red Wings, I have relocated to Raleigh to work for the Carolina Hurricanes as the Girls & Women’s Hockey Specialist. My past coaching and career experiences will help me to shape and grow the girl’s game here in North Carolina. I hope to impact the girls greatly through my knowledge of the game and my experience in different hockey markets.

1. Girls & Women s Youth and Amateur Hockey Specialist

   Key Responsibilities:•Lead Girls’/Women’s youth and amateur initiatives, build and market the Canes brand within the youth hockey community and promoting the Carolina Hurricanes through playing the sport of hockey. •Ideated and executed newest Girl\'s Hockey Programs & Events: First Goal Girls, Girl\'s Continue to Play, Lil\' Lady Canes League, Bring-A-Friend Event, Girl\'s & Women\'s Hockey Celebration, Women\'s Skills Clinic Series and Girl\'s Summer Camp.•Forecast and manage budget to ensure long-term sustainability. •Lead all on-ice instruction for Girl\'s Hockey and recruit, hire and staff all additional instructors.•Support the Carolina Hurricanes First Goal Learn to Play Program for logistics and on-ice instruction.•Consult with other Female Hockey Ambassadors and Hockey Development Departments across the NHL for best practices in girl’s hockey development.•Support in-school program, which reaches over 75 elementary and middle schools in North Carolina, including teaching hockey clinics and supporting teachers with floor hockey instruction. •Support Carolina Hurricanes home games with Mighty Mites and the Starter of the Game.•Attend and assist at outside community events, including Carolina Hurricanes Foundation events, Canes Watch Parties, etc.
