About Sean Hanna

I joined Deloitte\'s Workday Student practice in October 2022 after a long career as an administrator in various capacities at the University of Rochester. I\'ve taken a bit of a crooked path to get to where I presently sit, so it may be worth describing that path so that you can understand me, and also so others who find themselves on the crooked path can see that persistence does pay off. I began working at The University of Rochester as a secretary at the front desk in the Financial Aid Office in July, After a few promotions in that office I moved over to what is now called the College Center for Advising Services (CCAS) as the coordinated of the Take Five Scholars a Program. I coordinated the administrative processes associated with students changing their enrollment status (e.g. declaring inactive status, withdrawal, reactivation, etc.). Over time and with great support from my mentors, I was fortunate to have opportunities to broaden the scope of my work and elevate my role in The College, working as the Dean of Sophomores and Director of Retention and Student Success for several years. In 2014 I began spending a portion of my time as one of the team leads for the Advising and Registration portions of the University-wide student information system replacement project, as the University began working as a Workday Student system design partner, along with eight other colleges and universities. This led me to my a position as a Business Analyst working for University IT as the Academic Advising functional lead on the Workday Student implementation project, which I began full time in July 2016. We successfully deployed Workday Student in February 2020 and from then I supported the Workday advising module through assisting functional users of the system, improving configuration, assessing new functionality, and working to develop new reports. I have also become more involved in supporting both the student records and student financials modules since the system deployment. In March 2022 I took on a newly created position, Data Concierge, within University IT in an attempt to bridge our institutional research needs with the reality of the data warehouse. In October 2022, I joined Deloitte in their Workday Student practice.
